Brand History

Created in 1966 by Paul Van Doren. Van Doren Rubber Co. soon became known as Vans and cemented a reputation as the pioneering skate brand, introducing the Authentic (1966) and the Chukka (1967/68), styles still going strong today! 1976 saw the introduction of the Era, with its padded collar and now infamous waffle sole and designed by Tony Alva of Z Boys fame the Era became skateboardings Original shoe.

Vans have now become as much at home on the street as they have in your local skate park and The Original Store is now stocking a selection of Chukkas, Era’s, Authentics as well the more street inspired Vault collection.
