Supplying the Authentic

Originally created in 1919 by brothers Abe and Bill Fainbloom, as the Knickerbocker Knitting Company, Champion pioneered a heavy-duty cotton, which it patented as Reverse-Weave, and manufactured sweatshirts primarily for athletes. After patenting a flocking process to put raised letters on clothing in the mid 30’s Champion sweatshirts and hoodies soon became a staple of intercollegiate and high school-level athletic programs.
Champion sportswear has now become ‘the’ staple in hip hop and urban fashion, popularized by seminal 90s NYC based rappers including A Tribe Called Quest and Mobb Deep. Today, rappers like 50 Cent, The Game and Ghostface Killah continued the tradition of wearing Champion hoodies.
A true Original
