Product Information

The 1940 US Army camouflage pattern known as “frog- skin”, was first issued to the U.S. Marine Corps fighting on the Solomon Islands in the Pacific during WWII, it went on to be used by Marine Raiders and Paramarine units as well as many regular USMC units in the Battle of Tarawa. Post WWII this pattern was also marketed to civilians for hunting clothing and became known as ‘duck hunter’ camo. Nantucket is home to The Kennedy Compound on Cape Cod along Nantucket Sound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. The Kennedys would come to Nantucket for relaxation including sailing and hunting. A LIFE magazine photo from the 1950's shows JFK wearing a USMC ‘frogskin’ camo jacket for hunting.
